GLEN OAKS HIGH SCHOOL SECURITY DADS

The “Security Dads” concept began in 1991 at Arlington High School in Indianapolis, Indiana.  The program was spotted in Parade Magazine and started at Glen Oaks High in October 1993.  While the program was a means of bringing more dads into the life of the school, it also helped to achieve a greater purpose. It helps provide added stability at sports activities, dances, and other extra-curricular activities.  The Security Dads serve as positive male role models, trying to restore a sense of safety and self-value in our children.  The mission statement is “to enrich the quality of life in the community and school through volunteer involvement”.
