Students should not report to school before 8:00 a.m.  Teachers are not on duty before this time.  For the safety of the children, check-outs are not permitted after 3:00 p.m.


Students are expected to be as school on time.  Good teaching and learning time is lost when a student arrives at school late.  If a student is late, he/she must first report to the office for an admission slip.  Excessive tardiness and early check-outs will be referred tot he Truancy Assessment Service Center.


Attendance policies as stated in bulletin 741, issued by the Louisiana State Dept. of Education and the Louisianan State Board of Elem. & Secondary Education, require that elementary students be present for the mandated number of school days in order to receive credit for courses taken.  This includes both excused and unexcused absences.  Students who do not attend school for the minimum required days will not be promoted to the next grade without written approval of the East Baton Rouge Parish School System’s Office of Child Welfare and Attendance.


The East Baton Rouge Parish School Board has adopted a uniform policy for all Elementary School students.  Students shall be in compliance with the following uniform policy.

  • Navy blue bottoms – standard uniform pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, and jumpers, not more than 5″ above the knee (NO jeans, biking shorts, stretch pants, capri pants, cargo pants, sweatpants, windsuits or jogging suits).  Navy corduroy pants are allowed for winter wear.
  • Burgundy (navy blue for PK) shirts/blouses allowed with a collar – turtle necks are acceptable in winter (NO t-shirts).  Shirts and blouses are to be tucked in.
  • Closed toe shoes/sneakers with a solid back.  No footwear that is backless, has strap backs, heels – no flip flops or house shoes.
  • Belts will be worn at the natural waist on bottoms with belt loops.
